The Storybook Mom is at Little Beans every other Tuesday at 10:30 (starting on Tuesday, April 17th). Nili Yelin began her "sit down, stand up style of storytelling" 10 years ago during an actor's strike and never looked back. Combining her passion for picture books, comedy, mommyhood and little ones she created The Storybook Mom. Nili performs weekly around the Chicago area and is back to host the Kids Corner this June at the Chicago Tribune Printers Row Lit Fest, her all time favorite book event. Nili is proud to be the Chicago ambassador for World Read Aloud Day. Nili has performed at The Field Museum, Shedd Aquarium, many other museums, libraries, schools and festivals around the country and reads at least one new picture book a day...Nili is working on her own picture book about the world of storytelling and feels blessed to meet all the wonderful writers, readers and listeners out there. www.storybookmom.com

Here's a fun little event that benefits lots of people!  From April 16th until May 3rd, get one half price playspace admission when you donate a bag of adult clothing, shoes, purses, and/or accessories. May 4th  from 10:00am-6:00pm all of the donated items will be set up in the lounge and are yours for the taking with playspace admission!  If you donate, you'll go on our VIP list and get early access from 9:00am-10:00am.  Whatever is left at the end of the day will be donated to a charity to be determined.   Adult clothing, etc only please; we'll be doing another one for baby/kid's clothes soon!  (One discount per family.)

We're all about letting our Mammas relax while the little ones play, but we're doing something a little extra special for you and your kiddos for Mother's Day.  Join us for a delicious pancake brunch on our enclosed play deck!  Ticket includes play on the deck, a special mother's day craft project, pancakes, fruit, coffee, and milk or juice for the kids.  And of course flowers for our hard working Mommies!  (Tickets are required for ages 1 and up and do not include indoor playspace admission.) You may have seen her as Dancy Nancy on Nick Jr.'s Jack's Big Music Show.  Or maybe you have seen her at Children's Memorial Hospital hosting her live TV game show Body Parts.  But have you seen her Big Balllyhoo Story Show?  It's Miss Tracey (Ellert) and her live storytelling show.    It's like a one woman show for preschool aged kids!  All original stories brought to life by props and toys.  An extremely interactive, very creative show guided through the children's interactions. Tracey will also have another show on Saturday, August 25th at 10:00am

Join us for a fun workshop focusing on Theatre for kids. A theatre professional with teach a fun session filled with imagination, creativity and play, while learning some of the early concepts of theatre and imagination. The class will last 50 min and will end with a fun activity in the playspace

This one is just for our Daddies and their littlest ladies.  Join us for our first Daddy Daughter Tea Party.  Ticket includes play on our enclosed deck, tasty treats from our cafe, coffee for Daddy, juice or milk for his little lady, and of course some ice cream!  Come out and enjoy some quality time just for Dad and his little girl!
