SmartCents Financial Literacy

Anyone interested

Wednesday, 11/12 7:00pm–8:00pm

SmartCents is an interactive seminar system designed to be conducted in settings where there is a limited amount of time. It is ideal for “lunch and learn” scenarios and takes 30 minutes to conduct. The material is education-focused and not product specific. It is geared for professionals and heads of households to help them identify legal, tax and financial vulnerabilities. Participants also learn principles of asset accumulation, diversification and protection strategies.

There are very few choices one makes as an adult that does not involve money. And when one’s finances are in order, it has a multiplying effect in all the areas of a person’s life. This financial literacy workshop will examine why a longer lifespan, delayed or reduced social security benefits, low interest rates, rising taxes, uncertain markets, along with a host of other factors may demand entirely new approaches to preparing for important life events and financial goals.

This event is applicable to young participants wanting to learn more about college planning and budgeting. It also provides insight to pre-retirees when it comes to maximizing retirement assets, Medicare, Medicaid and extended care strategies. During this session, participants can learn how to:
· Increase income
· Avoid taxes
· Manage investment risk
· Identify household & balance sheet inefficiencies
· Reduce school loans
